Week 4: 11/3/09
Experience:
Synopsis
The group were right in the thick of battle with spiders.
Encounter 1:
The battle with spiders was a challenging one. The spiders seemed to be able to leap large distances almost in the blink of an eye and showed rudimentary intelligence, or maybe they just targeted those that hurt them the most. The battle was hampered by the fonts throughout the chamber but the group prevailed without serious loss of health and morale.
Moving onwards the group discovered that the enemy had been traveling down the far side of the tomb and would likely meet them at the large chamber of pillars. These pillars, when approached seemed to light up and generated magical vortexes that pushed, pulled, burnt, slowed, froze and electrocuted anyone passing through them without taking care.
Encounter 2
After a false start the battle was commenced. Several of the enemy group had already managed to shut off a number of the pillars leaving it safe to travel part of the way across the chamber. A necromancer orchestrated the enemies movements and that was Khaylan's priority. Teleporting and dashing across the chamber with little damage she maneuvered herself into a position where she dispatched the necromancer fairly easily whilst the rest of the group mopped up the stragglers and disarmed the remaining pillars.
once the battle was over the group discovered the tomb of the lost emperor and decided to leave well alone. Through some cursors examination of the objects and items around the tomb it was clear that a lich was trapped inside. So taking some scrolls and gold they left alone.
back on the surface the group discovered a damn that had been built by the necromancer and removed it, flooding the area again including the tomb as the passageway down was left open.
Returning to Lord Amber the group were successful in their mission and chose to rest in the small villager aptly named Amber
